CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- A woman pulled into a South Florida fire station Monday morning with a strange request -- to help her remove a bird that was lodged inside of the grill of her car.

Coral Springs Fire Department Capt. Michael Moser said the woman apparently struck the bird while she was driving Sunday but assumed it was still in the road. When the woman woke up Monday morning, she heard a bird chirping and found the wounded bird stuck in her grill.

Moser said the woman drove to the fire station, where firefighters were able to free the bird by disassembling the front end of the car.

The bird was being brought to the Sawgrass Nature Center for rehabilitation before being released back into the wild.

Not sure if it was a lucky bird for being rescued or an unlucky bird for getting caught in the first place. I think I'll go with I thought my Mondays were bad

lol!

ou are right, there are alot of Quakers in south Fla. You need a permit to own ne cause they are non native and to tell you the truth they are noisey and take overneighborhoods with nests that are tremendous in size .Out where this bird got caught in the car there and litterly thousands of them takin g over the western side of Broward and Miami-Dade counties.. Althoughthis bird was a pet,it knows alot of words and phrases. cheers

It's amazing that the bird survived its encounter with a car and only sustained minor injuries. Props to the firefighters for dismantling the front of the car to free it. That parrot will have a heck of a story to tell his friends after he's released!
